Special Handling: Viscosity modifier additives are sensitive to contamination. The most common problems result from their direct contact with other concentrated residual fuel and crude oil additives. Very small levels of additive contamination can produce gels that are difficult to solubilize in oil. For this reason, all equipment used in the manufacture and transfer of viscosity modifier additives be thoroughly cleaned and inspected to ensure no residue from previous additives is present. |
According to the "North American Emergency Response Guidebook for Shipment between U.S., Canada, and Mexico for All Common Carriers" defines this product as "COMBUSTIBLE IIIA", during transport. This product can only be transported by truck or ocean, due its flash point of 38 degrees C, below the IATA limit below 141 degrees F (60.5 degrees C) *Density and specific gravity may vary by as much as 5% lower than the number given due to variation in density of one raw material. |
