ALKEN® HSN-826 is a clear liquid combination nitrite-borate-triazole corrosion inhibitor (containing no chromate or phosphate) designed to control pitting and galvanic action in closed recirculating hot and chilled water systems. The non-chromate, non-phosphate, non-toxic nature of ALKEN® HSN-826 makes it possible for plants to treat their hot and chilled water systems without the danger of creating pollution problems. The effluent (or blowdown) from a system treated with ALKEN® HSN-826 can be released into any river, stream or stabilization lagoon without the fear of increasing toxicity. ALKEN® HSN-826 is specifically designed for control of corrosion, pitting and galvanic action in closed systems where dissimilar metals may be present. |

Normally, the treatment should be used in sufficient quantity to maintain a sodium nitrite residual of 750-1000 ppm. After an initial dosage of 9 gallons per thousand gallons of water in the system, a maintenance dosage of 5 qts. is qenerally adequate with weekly blowdown and water losses of 200 gallons or less. |
Adjustments in dosages can be made on the basis of plant analyses performed with simple nitrite titrimetric test equipment. |
ALKEN® HSN-826 can be introduced into the system through a shot feeder |
ALKEN® HSN-826 is packaged in plastic drums. 55 gallon drums weigh 500 lbs. Consult current Material Safety Data Sheet for detailed handling and storage precautions. IHT Code: 3824.90.9050 Miscellaneous chemical mixture, other |
